November 26, 2008, marked my last Annual Delivery Program (ADP) meeting with the Japanese and Korean as I am moving to my new position starting December 01, 2008. After been travelling back and forth between Jkt-Sin-Tokyo-Seoul-Sin-Jkt several times, finally I’ve reached my final trip, yap the last one to go. To me, it has been a wonderful and fruitful 2 years of experience involving in global Liquified Natural Gas (LNG) business as it has really exposed myself to the Global Energy World, something beyond my imagination. One of an eye opening experiences I’ve ever been thru, I would say.
I’ve been enjoying every part of the business, be it the downside or the upside, succesfull or failure negotiations, the conflicts or the consensus, made within the 2 years of my tenure as those have given me a wisdom to really see everything from different perspective. In the said period, I did come to the stage where I’m proud of being an Indonesian as well as feeling really sad of what my countryman did, proud being an IOC employee as well as sad of being accused as a non nationalist….yes been thru all the stages.
Deep in side my heart, I really love Indonesia and will always will…want to live and die in Indonesia… I did have chances to work overseas but I declined just because I really love my country and want to contribute the knowledge & experiences that I gained for the betterment of my nation. When I was working abroad, there was a saying, “hujan emas di negeri orang, masih lebih baik hujan batu di negeri sendiri”, and I really felt that.
And new job…..here I come…with better enthusiasm and spirit…smile ;p
